Southwest Secondary is committed to providing in-person instruction and following PED and Department of Health guidelines. Our Covid Safe Practices include:

  • Masks are optional for all staff and students.
  • Hand sanitizer is available throughout the facility.
  • Daily sanitation with UV light in all classrooms.
  • SSLC reserves the right to change masking and other recommendations at any time based on our community levels of Covid-19.

SSLC offers a voluntary student surveillance test program.  Families can request a FREE rapid antigen at-home test kit for their student by contacting Lisa Mora at 505-296-7677 or lmora@sslc-nm.com.

If your child is experiencing symptoms of Covid-19, please refer to the symptom guide and decision tree from the NM PED toolkit below.

If your student tests POSITIVE for Covid-19, please inform us as quickly as possible. Current guidance includes a 5-day quarantine from symptom onset or the date of the test. It is recommended the positive person wear a mask on days 6-10.
